Takoma Park Police detectives are investigating a robbery at a business in downtown Takoma Park this afternoon. A man implied he had a weapon and robbed a business in the 7000 block of Carroll Avenue. The suspect locked the victims in a dressing room after taking property from the business and two customers.

The suspect is described as a thin, light-complected black male, about 5'6"- 5'8" about 35-40 years old. Witnesses said he has a grey beard and was wearing a white buttoned shirt, jeans, and hat.

A woman customer, who had been ill last week, was understandably distressed by the experience. She was taken to a local hospital for observation and released. No physical injuries were reported.

Takoma Park Police are looking into a connection with an early morning robbery in the same business area. The shop keeper in that August 27 robbery was locked in a cooler after being robbed by a suspect with a similar description.
